What Hans AI stores
Your preferences and the facts Hans learns about you, your settings and limits, the decisions it proposed, what you approved, edited, skipped or undid, and short summaries of new emails (sender, subject, a one-line summary and any meeting times). Hans does not store email bodies or your calendar.
Google data
With your permission Hans reads your Google Calendar to plan around your schedule and creates events you approve. It reads new Gmail messages in read-only mode; their text goes only to an isolated AI step that has no ability to act and returns a short summary. Hans's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train AI models.
AI processing
You agree to this in the app before any of your data goes to these services, and you can turn it off any time in Rules. Decisions, and the web browser that gets web tasks ready for you, run on OpenAI's API, with Anthropic's Claude as a backup. Only the context needed for a decision is sent, requests aren't kept by OpenAI for later use, and neither trains models on API data. Voice and, if you turn on listening, short audio clips go to ElevenLabs to be transcribed. Hans keeps what it learns from them, never the recordings.
Friends
Your account is yours alone. When you plan with friends, their Hans sees only your share card: the tastes and needs you picked, and, if you allow it, when you're busy (times only). Nothing else you've told Hans ever leaves your account, and sharing is off until you turn it on.
Businesses
Local businesses can list what they offer on Hans. Hans matches listings to your tastes on its own side and suggests one only when it fits you; placement can't be bought. Businesses never receive your name, your account or anything Hans knows about you. They see how often an item was picked, and small numbers are hidden.
Bookings and calls
When you approve a table or appointment, Hans books it under the name and number you gave it, and only free reservations. When you tap Call, it phones the business through ElevenLabs and Twilio, says it's an AI assistant calling for you, and gives only your name and number. It never pays.
App health
To find crashes and slow spots, the app sends Hans's own server crash reports from iOS and a few timings and counts (how long opening took, a setup step reached). Never anything you wrote or said, and nothing goes to an analytics company.
Your control
Everything Hans believes about you is visible and editable in the app, and Export my data gives you all of it. “Delete my data” on the Rules tab erases your profile, history, decisions, voice, the people Hans knows about, the name and number Hans books under, what you share with friends, calls, connected apps and services, web tasks, and the app’s usage and crash reports, on the server and on your phone, and takes you out of your groups. Your sign-in and linked devices stay so you can set up again, and events already on your calendar stay yours. You can revoke Google access at any time from your Google account settings.
